Health Center

The health center is open Monday - Friday 8 am - 8 pm during the academic year and on Monday - Friday 8 am - 4 pm during the summer and on breaks. All staff participate in a weekly staff meeting on Thursday from 2 pm - 4 pm, so there are no appointments available at that time. 

 

Visits to the Student Health Center are by appointment only. Please call 724.738.2052 to schedule an appointment. If you are experiencing an emergency on campus, call 724.738.3333. If you are off-campus, call 911.

Counseling center

The Student Counseling Center (SCC) focuses on providing brief, confidential counseling aimed at helping students to succeed academically and interpersonally.. All services from the counseling center are free and confidential to SRU students. The hours include 10 am to 6:30 pm on Monday and Tuesday as well as 8 am to 4:30 pm on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The counseling center will also have open walk-in hours from 12 pm to 3 pm daily. Counselors will be scheduled during these times for walk-in appointments. Non-crisis students will be seen for a 20-25 minute consultation session. Students in crisis outside of these hours will be triaged and seen by the first available counselor. The Fall 2023 semester will have LGBTQ+ support groups, Student-Athlete support groups, and Positive Performance group for performing arts. Days, times, and locations are TBD.

All students seeking services can call 724.738.2034, email or walk-in during office hours to schedule an appointment.

Womens' Center

The central mission of the Women's Center is to create and sustain an environment in which women and men can live, learn, and work together in equality, understanding, and mutual respect.

The Women's Center is dedicated to providing the Slippery Rock University community with a forum to discuss contemporary social topics through empowering educational programming and outreach awareness campaigns. The Women's Center also serves to foster an environment free from gender bias and enhance the lives of women at Slippery Rock University.

Pride Center

The Suite

The Pride Center is an environment that encourages empowerment, awareness, and education about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people as well as supporting and affirming the diverse identities and lives of the LGBTQIA+ community by the cultivation of a safe, welcoming non-judgmental environment.  The Pride Center is a Safe Zone.

The Pride Center is happy to help students with any concern related to the LGBTQIA+ community, such as housing, harassment, discrimination and name changes for your e-mail and student ID card.

Veterans' Center

Slippery Rock University Veterans Resources and the Student Veteran Center play a primary role in serving the University's growing community of veterans and military-connected students. Our Veterans Resources provide information on admissions, financial aid, GI Bill®, and other various contacts and resources. Our Student Veterans Center is equipped with computers, CAC- Smart Card Readers, printing capabilities, cable-TV and lounge space and provides SRU student veterans and military-connected students a quiet place to study, relax, and share information and experiences.
